What is "Transport" funding?
Transport is a support category under the Core budget in a participant’s NDIS plan. Transport funding in your NDIS plan is designed to help you access the community, participate in activities, and increase your independence. All NDIS plans are built to meet individual needs and the included supports will vary. Your My NDIS Contact is responsible for ensuring you understand how your plan can be utilised. The NDIS considers requests based on whether the support is related to your disability and whether it meets the NDIS Reasonable and Necessary Guidelines.

What Does This Budget Cover?
Transport (Support Category 2) funding provides support for participants who are unable to use public transport because of their disability. This funding helps you to get to work, school, community activities, medical appointments, and other places that help you pursue your goals. Transport funding can fund a range of supports, including:

Participants can use funds flexibly across most Core categories, but it’s important to confirm if any funding is stated or category-specific in the plan.
The periodic NDIS Transport Allowance does not come from this category of funding. The NDIS is responsible for these payments. If a Transport Allowance is accessible to a participant, support category 2 'Transport' is typically not included in the NDIS plan.
