Having a well-written listing with lots of information and a great picture will help participants be more inclined to choose your business over others. This article is intended to help you get the most out of your listing to best showcase your services

Firstly, you will need to go to the Profile of the service you manage that you are wanting to update (see Updating your service profile).

If you would like to see some great examples of fully completed listings, you can have a look at:

Trading Name

This is the name that will appear on the search results for any potential clients looking for support in your area and will be one of the first impressions they have of your business. Some tips when deciding which trading name to use:

  1. You don't need to use ".. Pty Ltd' as this can be reserved for use in your Registered name.

  2. Use the business name that your current customers would know you by.

  3. Try to keep it as short as possible

About your business

Potential clients will want to know a bit more about your business before they enquire about a particular service.

  1. Include useful information. Make sure to include enough information for someone to make an informed decision, and understand more about what other services you offer and how you might help them.

  2. Not too short. Don't make your business description too short as this may come across as your listing not being up to date.

  3. Use your existing About Us content. You may already have an existing About Us page on your website, feel free to use this content as it should give a great description of your services and show the personality of your business.

  4. Language. Keep the language you use simple, inclusive and easy to understand.

Provider Outlets

Outlets are your business's physical locations and will show up on the search map when they are looking for providers near them. You can add multiple outlets under one provider. These are important when the client is looking for 'in clinic' care where they will need to travel to your location. They will also appear at the bottom of your listing, shown with an embedded Google Map.

Service Areas

If your business offers In-Home services, then this section will be highly important. A Service Area is a distance-based radius around a location that you are willing to travel within. For example, you may only be able to travel 15km around one of your physical locations. You can easily add and update these so you will be a more relevant result for those searching for In-Home care near them.

This is a great option to be able to improve your appearance in search results if you are willing to travel to provide care to where your clients are.

Services Offered

The next step is to ensure that customers can see all the available Services you offer listed on your provider page. These should be kept accurate and up to date. When a customer is searching based on a Category, these services are what will determine if your business is included in the results or not.

Service Types

  • In Clinic / Group Session: The customer will travel to a physical location to receive service. When a customer is searching for a specific location, they will see any of your nearby Outlets as a search result

  • In-Home: You will travel to the customer to provide support in their home. When a customer is searching for in-home care, your business will appear in their search results based on your listed Service Areas

  • Online Service / Telehealth: The customer will receive care in their own home, through an online service. When a customer is searching for an online service, if your business provides this service type, then it will appear in the search results regardless of where the customer is physically located.

Age Groups

Setting the correct age groups your business supports will ensure you receive more relevant enquiries. When an enquiry is sent, the client is asked about which age group they fall into. For example, if you provide Speech Therapy to children, make sure you have selected the correct age groups.

Images

Along with the Trading Name, this is probably the second most important thing to update to make your business stand out.

Here are some tips for selecting images that will capture the attention of anyone looking at your listing

  1. Show your service: Customers may want to see what your clinic looks like, your customers or who the staff are so they can get an overall idea of what to expect when they engage with you

  2. Physical Location: If you have a brick-and-mortar business, feel free to add some recent marketing images of the clinic/office.
